ASK THE DOC: SYPHILIS- WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Syphilis, like many sexually transmitted diseases, is quite prevalent and a public health threat. It is a bacterial infection by treponema pallidum and can be very difficult to diagnose and treat but has very serious health consequences. Patients should understand what the disease is, how it is transmitted, how to prevent it and the best treatment options. The best option is to prevent infection in the first place. The disease can present in different stages and can be difficult to recognize as it can mimic many other conditions. The stages include primary, secondary, latent and tertiary. When the patient is initially infected a lesion, or chancre, will appear on the body at the entry point of infection and this is usually on the genitals. It…

Members of the Adult Industry to Honor Our Fallen Angels on the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers Join us to celebrate the Performers we’ve lost this year on December 17, the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. We would like to welcome industry members to a private event to mix, mingle, and honor sex workers as we continue to fight for justice, equal rights, and visibility. Health Insurance Deadline December 15, 2018

A major issue among our performer community is healthcare. While some performers have health coverage, many in our talent pool are uninsured. While we put our sexual health first, we might not always think about preventative care to ensure a healthy future.  Not only can getting insurance be overwhelming, it can be incredibly confusing when it comes to coverage for the performer employee. Since most companies treat adult performers as freelance contractors, employer health insurance is nearly nonexistent. While we work to fix this issue in our industry, help is still available to get you and your family covered! As open enrollment approaches, this is the time for you to start planning and get prepared. The Adult Performers Actors Guild can help you in the…

Helping The Homeless Holiday Drive

December 3, 2018 Los Angeles,CA- Alana Evans and the Adult Performers Actors Guild have teamed up with members of the adult industry to bring you the “Helping the Homeless Holiday Drive.” Every year during the holidays, fans love to spoil performers with gifts from their wishlists. This year, Alana has decided to use her Amazon wishlist to give back to the community and help spread awareness about homelessness. With numerous families displaced by the fires in California, and an increasingly growing homeless population, our adult community recognizes how important it is to give back.  Items purchased from the dedicated Amazon wishlist will be collected until December 20th, and dispersed to different shelters and relief efforts for the homeless. APAG Addresses Performer’s Concerns of STI’s on Set

It is an unfortunate yet common practice in the adult industry for performers to seek treatment for STI’s outside of our testing protocol. Whether it was our AIM testing system, or now FSC Pass, too many performers will seek treatment when concerned about having an STI instead of retesting. The number one reason for this isn’t lack of concern for other performers, but in actuality it’s the costs of the testing and treatments that prevent performers from notifying others when they are ill.  As a performer, your health and safety should be a priority for all, including those who handle your testing. With rising costs of testing, and complete lack of producer financial responsibility, performers are left holding massive bills for testing, retesting, and medication.…
