News from the Officers of APAG

Los Angeles – The Adult Performers Actors Guild (APAG) on Sunday, February 11th, 2018: voted in Vice President Alana Evans as President after the resignation of President Sean Michaels. We are very sad Sean Michaels decided to resign from the union, but he didn’t feel he had the time to fulfill the necessary obligations for the position. Mr. Michaels, is a revered man in this industry, who has a very busy schedule as a director, actor, and family man. We were honored to have him serve as our Union President. His leadership and professionalism was always present and always welcomed. Mr. Michaels graciously suggested Miss Evans for the position, and the officers of APAG couldn’t have agreed more with his suggestion.   Miss Evans as…

APAG creates The Benz List, a Performer Consent Checklist!

The Officers of the Adult Performers Actors Guild have created a performer consent list, also known as The Benz List. We have worked together to create a list that allows for a true and fair explanation of what a performer is willing to do on camera, to protect performers from having  their consent violated. Performers are often asked to perform acts they love, but sometimes a performer is put in a situation where there is no conversation regarding their comfort zone. This performer consent list covers what kind of scene they will be performing, along with sex acts they are either comfortable with, or more importantly, sex acts to which they are not comfortable with. This type of list allows performers to understand each others…

A statement from APAG Secretary Kelly Pierce

Dear Performers and Public, Our Union stands for transparency, choice, and consent! If you are not aware we regulate the adult performers in the straight and trans industry through the PASS system which is controlled by the FSC (Free Speech Coalition). It also should be mentioned that some gay companies also utilize the PASS system however the majority by choice do not follow the same testing protocols through the PASS system. The gay industry currently also allows HIV positive performers to work, which as you can imagine, has caused a lot of discrimination/hate to crossover talent and/or gay performers. We as the Union want to remedy this by asking that all three industries open the lines of communication and work together to adopt the same…

Court Rules Cybernet, Owners of KINK.com, Unprotected Against Actors’ HIV Claims

A federal court has ruled that Cybernet, owners of the popular website KINK.com, may be held accountable against claims they allegedly caused three porn performers to contract the HIV virus. In the ruling upheld by the federal court, California’s State Insurance Compensation Fund has no obligation to financially cover the series of claims. This case may set precedence forcing companies to cover the health expenses for performers who are found to have contracted HIV on their set, instead of their workers compensation insurance. While it has yet to be determined if the performers were infected on the Cybernet set, if the performers claims are founded, Cybernet could be liable for all costs. For the full story, read below.   Summary Judgment for Insurer Leaves Porn…
