UPDATE: AB2389 Loses Co-Author Support!

As reported today on Xbiz.com, we are pleased to hear that Assembly Person Lorena Gonzalez has removed her support and her name from the controversial AB2389. The bill was authored by Cristina Garcia (Dem) from District 58 who serves Bell Flower, Cerritos, Montebello, Downey, and Pico Rivera, none of which are hot spots for adult businesses or performers.

After our meeting late last night, Assembly Member Gonzalez personally messaged our President, Alana Evans, and apologized for her role in the legislation. She explained that they were misled, being told by the IEAU that Ms. Evans was in support of the bill. Lorena said she would be removing her support and we were thankful to see her follow through with those words.

Now that Assembly Person Gonzalez has stepped away from this disastrous bill, we must continue to push Assembly Person Garcia to remove AB2389 completely. We do not wish to have it reformed. We have been in constant communication with Garcia’s legislative staff, and are working to set a meeting with members from APAG, and we have invited members of the Free Speech Coalition to join us.

To put pressure on Garcia and her office, we ask that you contact her at the information below.
