This week we caught up with the Founder of Sextpanther , Alex, and he gave us a summary of the most notable changes to their terms of service. After being pointed out by educator and industry advocate Amberly Rothfield, Sextpanther was quick to address the concerns of exclusivity in their contract. They have also increased the percentage being paid out to models.
Here is a general rundown of the items that were addressed specifically among the other more standard provisions:
- Section 1.1 reinstates that the model is acting as an independent contractor of the company and not an employee.
- Section 1.10 increases the base payout by 5% (so models can expect their payouts to about 9% higher if they continue with the same earnings!). and also specifies the payout percentages for phone calls, feeds posts, and tips.
- Section 1.19 states that all work uploaded to the site remains the model’s exclusive property – a lot of sites will say the company owns the content once it’s uploaded to their site.
- Section 1.20 replaces the previous clause that had general language that could be construed as an exclusivity clause.
Those words are directly from Alex at Sextpanther and we appreciate the explanation. If performers have other questions or concerns about the new language, feel free to contact us.
