APAG TALKS- How to Talk About Porn

APAG announces APAG Talks, a new series of table discussions focusing on important topics in the adult industry. To introduce the series, APAG’s first Talk is centered around a challenging. yet important topic; “Porn Stars Teaching Parents How To Talk About Porn.” As performers in the industry and parents in our daily lives, we navigate through the same challenges other parents encounter, including the awkward conversation about the birds and the bees.
As parents, the conversation about porn, a theatrical display of intimacy, not only involves an explanation, but should require a plan to prevent exposure.  In recent months, we have witnessed political leaders from both sides discussing their ideas of how they would approach this subject with their families. When those ideas included showing adult material to children under 14, we decided it was time to teach the world how parents in porn keep their kids safe.  As parents in these films, we not only worry about our kids accessing porn, we also have to navigate them away from finding images of ourselves. We accomplish this with a respectful, age appropriate, and honest conversation about porn.
The first APAG Talks will include members of APAG, medical and mental health experts, and other industry professionals. Panelists will be announced in the up coming weeks. The first installment of APAG Talks will be released on APAG’s XBIZ.TV channel October 16 , with future episodes released bi weekly thereafter.
As the union for performers in the adult industry, APAG’s advocacy and organizing efforts have covered everything from racism to consent. This ground-breaking panel is the first of its kind; therefore, we are excited to share our knowledge, in order, to help protect and educate our families, and our communities.  For more information, visit http://www.APAGUnion.com
