The Adult Performance Artists Guild is pleased to announce an upcoming Townhall Meeting with Eliza Orlins, a candidate running for District Attorney in New York County. This Sunday, April 11, 2021, Eliza will join members of our community to discuss her platform, her background, and to give the community an opportunity to get to know her.
As a public defender for the Legal Aid Society, Eliza has represented more than 3,000 New Yorkers, fighting for New Yorkers who otherwise would not have been able to afford a lawyer. Eliza has consistently centered sex work decriminalization, and The Daily Beast wrote that her plan is ‘one of the most detailed policy positions on the full decriminalization of sex work ever put forward by a major candidate at any level of U.S. politics. As District Attorney, she promises to establish a dedicated Worker Protection Unit to work closely with community organizations and labor unions to combat labor violations. Eliza has been a proud union member with the Association of Legal Aid Attorneys Local 2325, part of UAW 9A, since 2009.
While many of us are familiar with Eliza due to her activism and social media presence, many may recognize her as a former contestant on Survivor! She appeared in two different seasons and even raced around the world in the Amazing Race.
The Adult Performance Artists Guild meeting will be held Sunday, April 11, 2021, at 5pm PST/ 8pm EST. Members of the adult industry community may RSVP at APAGUnion.com to attend. For more information about Eliza Orlins visit https://elizaorlins.com/
