We received an email notice this evening from our Parent union, IEAU. They will be holding a member vote on AB2389. Below if the information IEAU has sent out. The election begins Feb. 28 until Mar.2. It is very important for all dues-paying members to register with the IEAU website. If you haven’t yet, here’s the link.
We want to make sure you are fully informed regarding AB-2389 so be sure to take a look at our summary. While the language has changed, this is NOT just a health certificate. This is government involvement in our industry that is unnecessary. While we have our opinion, it is important for you to make an informed decision.
THE FOLLOWING TEXT IS THE EMAIL IEAU, OUR PARENT UNION, SENT OUT TO MEMBERS- WE DO NOT AGREE OR SUPPORT THEIR CLAIMS AND ARE ONLY SHARING TO GIVE YOU THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE VOTE HAPPENING- APAG BOARD
The bill was originally a Bill of Rights Act, the purpose is to be able to receive licensed professional information and help on topics such as the new changes in our Tax Laws, Our Employee Rights, Money Management, Workers Rights, Prep Information and other helpful resources that will help educate us.
Education = Knowledge and Knowledge = Power
One of our missions of this Union is
Working to provide members, officers and subordinate bodies resource centers, education, help lines, seminars, group therapies, collective bargaining, and other resources.
This bill allows us the resources to do that so that we are able to fulfill those obligations to you, as our members.
Our intentions here is to do nothing but to Educate;
- How many of us do you think knows exactly what it is you get tested for?
- Did you know that the HIV Virus can live in a syringe for up to 42 days?
- Do you completely understand the new tax laws? What about the hidden underline information no one shares with you?
- What is an IRA and how to get one?
- How to fight for your rights as a parent in this industry.
- Working rights knowledge.
The information this course will provide will help empower you so that you can:
- Make decisions, knowing you are making the right ones,
- Knowing you have been given all the true facts to make those decisions.

Voting will also take place electronically on IEAU website.
All Paid Union members including gold and silver members are welcome to vote.

THIS is merely an education course, nothing more. THE IEAU is the government agency in which will be holding the certificate information so the everyone’s personal information will NOT be public knowledge.
We will be taken suggestions from our members on the information you would like to see in the course.

All time is registered as Pacific (La time)
All membership voting shall take place on the IEAU website.
All open industry voting platform will be announced.
Again, we do greatly apologize for the way the bill first went out, and all that language is now gone. Taking a Safety & Workers Course, will help the industry in getting lower insurance rates, workman comp rates, and getting us one step closer to moving us out of the high risk profile, we are currently in.
