A Letter from the APAG Board

As the union for performers in the adult industry, healthcare for our workers has been a large part of our focus. While we have worked to secure health insurance for hundreds of workers, testing advancements have also been a part of this conversation. Technology, science, and research advancements continue to help create changes within our testing system, performers have worked to have a say in their testing. Their consent comes as a priority when all parameters of a scene are considered. As an organization, APAG supports a performer’s right to choose, regardless of a performer’s status. We have worked since 2017 to secure performer’s right to informed consent. We also believe that all performers have the right to healthcare and safety, including our workers who are HIV+ and HIV Undetectable. As a union, we support our workers, our members and wish to continue to keep their health and safety our top priority. When consent is discussed, and the performer has the option to make their own informed choice, our industry can work together to end stigma.

As science, technology, and research continue to advance, we look forward to continuing this conversation with our members. We hope that stigma towards those living with HIV comes to an end, and we offer our love and support to our community.
